We'd love to get to know you better. Take a moment to say hi to the community in the comments.
Rode 2013 with 2 friends..."The Hout Bay Boys" had a great ride with good weather. I rank RASA up there with a 40 day mission my wife and I did in Himalayas.
Janine Wencke. I've always wanted to do this ride and now seems to be a good time in my life, but... what does it take? Can I do it? Followed the ladies avidly this year. I prefer summer to winter but just found out that there is no summer RASA 2023, so now what?
I don't have a friend to do it with, I'm terrible with directions and if I do RTR then I miss this opportunity to do the summer RASA... I hear you that I should walk before I run, but, hey, it's all an adventure, right?! (Clearly I have too much bravado sitting here safely on my couch) 😆
If there is a black label next the couch...if not enter and do the homework/preparation. Map reading can be learnt, recce sections of the route, follow training program - you want to be as fit as for Cape Epic, get bike shop to show trail side repairs if you don't know, allow 26 days, test gear...Barry Futter who I rode with did it first time. But...train in the heat and have plenty Eehidrate. Good luck.
